Just a quick post as I breeze by (It’s Housework Day chez Bird. Sweeping and mopping and laundry, oh my!)
I’m sure many of you have heard of Knitters Without Borders (Tricoteuses Sans Frontières, for those who parle francais,) but if not you can read about it here. An extremely worthy cause, very easy to do.
And if the Yarn Harlot can’t guilt you into donating, April of The Weaving Inn has another incentive for you.
She is holding a drawing for 30 skeins of sock yarn!!! (The girl might have some stash issues, I don’t know. Help her out.) All you have to do to enter is make a small donation to MSF, and she’ll enter your name. If you’re not into sock yarn, well, you can always give it as a gift or sell it on eBay.
It’s very easy. Give in to the peer pressure. (I did!)
We haven’t done the weather in awhile. It’s because my corner of the world has maintained the appearance of an over-producing Slushy machine (without flavoring, because that would just be too gross,) and I had sworn not to speak of it. *sigh* Some promises are meant to be broken.
Temps hover around 32 – 33 F during the day, and dip into the upper 20s overnight, producing the lovliest conditions for luging down one’s driveway, if that’s your thing. You can also fall down and scrape your hands on the sharp ice, which is fun.
Drizzly, foggy, light sleet – hey, at least it’s good knitting weather! And since we have 10h 14m of daylight today (SR 8:58, SS 17:43) at least we can see the icy, slippery mess, rather than simply falling down in the dark. (To mis-quote Rabbitch, “Thank the gods for small perversions…”)
